Michigan State football is looking to add depth to its linebacker room through the transfer portal.
Purdue transfer linebacker Jacob Wahlberg announced on Sunday that he’s received an offer from the Spartans. Wahlberg is originally from Muskegon, Mich. and was a three-star prospect in the 2019 class.
Wahlberg appeared in 17 career games for Purdue, including at 14 last season. He recorded 48 total tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble during his time as a Boilermaker.
Wahlberg entered the transfer portal earlier this week, and has two years of eligibility remaining. Since entering the portal, he’s received offers from Michigan State, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Western Michigan and Appalachian State.
