Michigan State football has extended a scholarship offer to a big-time edge rusher from the Windy City.
Four-star edge rusher Chris Burgess announced on Tuesday night that he’s received a scholarship from the Spartans. Burgess hails from Chicago and plays for Simeon High.
Burgess ranks as the No. 20 defensive lineman and No. 179 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2025 class. He’s also listed as the No. 4 player from Illinois.
Burgess holds offers from nearly 30 programs already. Outside of Michigan State, Burgess has scholarship offers from notable programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisville, Michigan, Miami (FL), Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Tennessee and USC.
