MSU Basketball vs. Hillsdale College: Stream, broadcast info, predictions for Wednesday

Michigan State basketball is officially back.

The Spartans will take the court for their first true game on Wednesday night in an exhibition matchup against Hillsdale College. This will be the first of two exhibition games this week, with the other being against fellow top 10 team Tennessee on Sunday.

Hillsdale College is coming off a successful season in 2022-23, finishing with a 23-7 record overall and 15-5 conference record. The Chargers reached their third straight Division II NCAA Tournament last year.

Michigan State is also coming off a rather impressive season last year, reaching the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Expectations are much higher for the Spartans this year with Michigan State listed at No. 4 in the Associated Press (AP) preseason poll.

Game Predictions

Prediction: MSU 85, Hillsdale College 61

Michigan State will simply be the more talented team and have an advantage in all of the key areas in a matchup of this nature. Hillsdale College won’t roll over, though, and has proven they can win at a high level at the Division II ranks. So I expect this one to be a comfortable win for the Spartans but nothing crazy as the Chargers keep it respectable.
