Michigan State basketball will once again hit the hardwood on Thanksgiving, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander.
Norlander is reporting that the Spartans will play North Carolina on Thanksgiving in 2025. The two programs have “verbally agreed” to play each other as part of the four-team Fort Meyers Tip-Off event. The game will be played in the late afternoon after the Detroit Lions annual Thanksgiving game.

Michigan State basketball played Arizona this past year on Thanksgiving as well. This year, Michigan State will be playing in the Maui Invitational that occurs Monday – Wednesday of Thanksgiving week.
Michigan State last played North Carolina in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. The Tar Heels beat the Spartans to advance to the Sweet 16.
