Michigan State basketball is knocking on the door of the top 10.
The Spartans moved up in the latest Associated Press (AP) Top 25 poll released on Monday. Michigan State rose four more spots and is just outside the top 10 at No. 12 in this week’s poll.
Michigan State is the highest-ranked team from the Big Ten this week. There were five other teams from the Big Ten included in this week’s poll: Oregon (No. 13), Purdue (No. 17), Illinois (No. 19), Michigan (No. 20) and Wisconsin (No. 24).
Michigan State is 14-2 overall and 5-0 in Big Ten play. The Spartans have won nine straight games, and have a pair of winnable home games coming up this week against Penn State (on Wednesday) and Illinois (on Sunday).
