One of the best bracketologists out there has officially listed Michigan State basketball as a lock for the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
JBR Bracketology moved Michigan State into a lock status for this year’s NCAA Tournament following the win over Illinois on Sunday. The Spartans are the eighth team to receive lock status from JBR Bracketology per the JBR Model.
Michigan State improved to 16-2 overall and 7-0 in Big Ten play with the win over Illinois on Sunday. The Spartans are widely considered a No. 3 seed at the moment and can continue to play their way up the seed lines if they keep winning.
I’m not entirely sure how the JBR Model works, but my assumption is that Michigan State will still need to take care of business in the games where they are expected to win. So, this lock status doesn’t mean Michigan State can lose out and still make the NCAA Tournament. But it at least should make Spartans’ fans everywhere feel better about not being on the bubble for a fifth straight season.
