A Renfrewshire MSP met with charity chiefs to discuss the cost of living crisis.
Tom Arthur, SNP MSP for Renfrewshire South recently visited the Local Energy Action Plan (LEAP) offices on Lochwinnoch’s High Street to meet with the senior management team; Mike Callaghan, Tori Bell and Pam Shaw.
LEAP is a local charity organisation, based in Lochwinnoch, but operating projects in various towns and villages across the constituency.
From their Car Club – which offers members hourly, pay-as-you-go car hire of electric and hybrid vehicles at affordable rates, to free Home Energy Checks, Youth Education programmes, and Active Travel events, LEAP’s reach is wide and their services invaluable, for people living and working here in Renfrewshire South.

Tom said: “Since their inception in 2010, LEAP have been forging the way in providing local, sustainable and supportive services to help anyone looking to save money whilst reducing harmful impacts on the environment.
“Never has this been more pertinent than it is now, with the cost of living crisis escalating and our challenge to tackle climate change a focus at all levels of Government.
“Mike and Tori expressed huge concern for their service users going forward as LEAP is already being asked to provide some with food that does not require to be cooked due to rapidly rising and unaffordable energy costs.
“It was invaluable to meet with the team at LEAP and I will continue to link in with them regularly so that my office can provide the most up-to-date advice and relevant support for constituents who need it.”
