Ms Banks broke the news of her addition to her Instagram followers on Friday, writing: "Join me for an unforgettable night at the Platinum Party at the Palace to celebrate some of the most significant moments from The Queen’s seven decade REIGN. TOMORROW at 7.30pm on BBC1 and @BBCiPlayer."

Sharing the post onto her Instagram Stories, Ms Banks continued to share her joy at being added to the line-up, telling her 606,000 followers: "Yes your girl is performing for the Queen at Buckingham Palace, purrr."

Ms Banks - real name Thyra Kigho Deshaun Oji - broke into the music scene back in 2014, with her debut mixtape titled Once Upon a Grind.

Over years, the star has featured on tracks alongside artists such as Tinie Tempah, Stormzy, Little Mix and JME.

Platinum Party at the Palace will be hosted by Kirsty Young and Capital Breakfast presenter Roman Kemp, and will be available to watch and listen live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Radio 2 throughout Saturday night.

The concert, being held outside Buckingham Palace, will also see Diana Ross make her first U.K appearance for the first time in 15 years.

Speaking previously about the upcoming event, the Supremes singer said: "I have had the honour of meeting the Queen many times throughout my life, including when I was with my family.

"Her Majesty has, and continues to be, such an incredible inspiration to so many across the world and I was absolutely delighted to receive an invitation to perform on such a momentous and historic occasion."

The singer's performance on Saturday comes ahead of her taking to the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival later this month.

Film, TV and sports stars will also be taking part on Saturday night, with appearances expected from Sir David Attenborough, Emma Raducanu, David Beckham, Stephen Fry and Dame Julie Andrews.

Former footballer David was one of the many celebrities to pay tribute to the Queen on social media on Thursday, gushing over the monarch with a lengthy Instagram caption and a series of images of the monarch.

"Today, we celebrate our Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. 70 years of service and inspirational leadership of our country. Let’s come together and commemorate her remarkable reign with a great British party these next few days," David stated online on Thursday, ahead of his appearance outside Buckingham Palace over the weekend.
