Mrs Hinch's son Ronnie diagnosed with rare lymph node disease following horrifying hospital rush

Mrs Hinch has revealed that her three year old son, Ronnie, has been diagnosed with a rare disease after being rushed to hospital with a high temperature.

The cleaning guru, 33, sought medical attention for her eldest boy, after his temperature spiked to 40C.

Ronnie spent days in hospital, where he underwent numerous tests and treatments according to his Instagram influencer mum, before finally being diagnosed with Kawasaki disease. The NHS describes this as: "A condition that mainly affects children under the age of 5. It's also known as mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome."

While the NHS add that the disease cannot be prevented, they say that children can make a full recovery from it within six to eight weeks if it is 'diagnosed and treated promptly'. It is not known as to what causes Kawasaki disease, and it could occur due to a combination of factors.

Following on from ten days of treatment, Sophie revealed that her son had been given the all clear from medical experts to return home. Taking to her official Instagram page, she shared a couple of snaps of her smiling son from hospital.

Accompanying the post, she detailed the horrifying experience, writing: "FINALLY “We can go home now Mummy”. Ron, you are SO brave, SO strong, SO loved and just beautifully unique darling boy. We have spent the past 10 days living what's felt like a real life nightmare.

"But I just wanted to thank you all for so many kind messages and update you all. Ron’s temp spiked 40 at home, I phoned an ambulance. Ron was admitted and IV antibiotics started but NOTHING was working, in fact Ronnie deteriorated. The incredible doctors and nurses started every blood test and scan you can imagine.

"We paced rooms and corridors for days just waiting for an answer, a result … anything! Seeing Ron this way kicked me with a fear and desperation I’ve never felt in my whole life. What is happening to our son! Please tell me! After a couple of days, more symptoms appeared and results returned.

"Ron was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease, something I had never heard of before. Kawasaki disease is a rare, non contagious disease that only affects around eight in every 100,000 children under the age of five in the UK. This disease causes swelling of the blood vessels throughout the body. It can also affect the blood vessels supplying the heart muscle when not treated early enough.

"The main symptoms to look out for include a persistent high temperature, body rash, swelling and then peeling of the hands and feet, red blistered lips, bloodshot eyes, strawberry tongue, inflamed sore throat and swollen lymph glands."

Sophie then went on to thank the team at Broomfield Hospital, St Mary's and Great Ormond Street. She added: "This past week has shaken our whole world as a family. I’ve never felt a fear like it. But I need to say THANKYOU to the incredible team at Broomfield hospital, St Marys and Great Ormond street.

"Thank you for answering our prayers and making our Ronnie better, His little smile says it all so Thank you. Please if anyone reading this is a parent/carer of a child with Kawasaki disease Jamie and I would be so so grateful to hear from you and your story. I will do all that I can to help raise awareness of this disease that to this day still has no explained cause.

"OUR VERY SPECIAL RONNIE ROO IS COMING HOME and we are back together as a family at last xxx."

And Mrs Hinch's post was quickly met by a number of positive messages from friends and fans alike. One wrote: "So so happy he’s home. Sending all good wishes xxx," while another added: "Ahhhhhh my heart is so happy for you so glad he’s on the mend Soph haven’t stopped thinking of you, love you lots xxxx."

A third, went on: "I’m so happy to read this all and beyond delighted Ron is ok back to your hinch bubble and look all after yourselfs xx," while a fourth, penned: "So pleased Ron is in the mend such a scary time tor you all."
