Mrs Hinch fans share brilliant 12p tip for getting nasty stains out of tea cups

If you use the same mug for your cup of tea over and over again you might have noticed a brown stain developing which can be a nasty business to get rid of. Frustratingly, the more the mug is used, the worse the stains can get.

Thankfully, fans of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch are on hand to help as they have shared their top tip for getting rid of these pesky tea stains. The best bit is it will only cost you 12p a go.

Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, has a vast following online. Many people use the Mrs Hinch Cleaning tips Facebook group to share their hacks for house maintenance and a recent post has answered your mug cleaning prayers.

In a post, one woman wrote: "Does anyone have any suggestions on how to clean the tea stains from the inside of my flask please? I have tried baking powder & a soft brush, but made no difference. Thanks."

Within minutes the army of cleaning tipsters were flooding the comments with ideas but there was one which particularly stuck out and that was to use dishwasher tablets.

One commenter quickly recommended this and said: "Dishwasher tablet and boiling water."

While another added: "I use dishwashing powder in mugs with hot water and leave overnight so that should work for your flask too."

A third penned: "Dishwasher tablet and hot water."

This hack is super affordable as each dishwasher tablet only costs around 12p from stores such as Asda.

Other cleaning fanatics offered up extra handy advice to get your mugs looking sparkling fresh again.

Somebody stated: "Bleach - it's in lots of the cleaning & sterilising agents that work effectively. A fairly mild dilution left overnight should do it."

Meanwhile, another agreed: "Milton Steradent bleach."
