Ovens are built to withstand high temperatures and the glass door lets cooks take a peak at how their meal is cooking without wasting precious heat.
But this window can often become incrusted with grease and grime and the longer it's left untreated, the harder it is to scrub off. It can be tempting to put off cleaning the oven door, mainly due to the back breaking effort required.
Cleaning enthusiasts have once again taken to social media and shared a "fantastic" hack that can de-grease your oven doors without scrubbing, the Express reports.
Dedicated Mrs Hinch followers shared their top tips after one woman went online to seek adivce on how to remove oven stains Posting to the cleaning guru's Facebook fan page Sandra Summers wrote: “How do I get the stains off of my oven door?”
The question was quickly flooded with hundreds of comments from, offering a wide range of suggestions. While there were many to choose from, the most common to use a dishwasher tablet.
Carol Furniss said: “I use a dishwasher tablet, just dampen it first then use it wherever the glass is dirty.” Susan Cambridge commented: “Damp dishwasher tablet and it only takes five minutes. I was amazed at how good it works.”
Dishwasher tablets are made of concentrated dishwasher detergent and promise to cut through tough grease and leave your dishes sparkling. Morrisons Savers dishwasher tablets can be bought for £2.49 for 40, making them a mere 6 pence each.
The tabs are known to clean other tough to scrub areas at home and can even clean away toilet limescale.
Tracey Hammond wrote: “Rub a damp dishwasher tablet over it and then wipe off with a damp cloth, fantastic results every time. It melts away tough stains without scrubbing.”
Kathleen Clark advised: “Dishwasher tablet, wet it and run it on the door. After, rinse off. Takes off burnt deposits.” Linda Crone agreed: “I used a washing tablet and it worked a treat for me.”
Bernie Divin said: “I have tried many things but a dishwasher tablet cleans oven doors well. I couldn’t believe how well this worked.”
Chris Mullen suggested: “A dishwasher tablet in circles and wash off with warm water - game changer.” Grayson Rayner added: “Use a dishwasher tablet damp, then wipe it off with a wet towel. It will look like new.”
