Mrs Hinch devastated as she reveals death of beloved pet amid 'personal life stumbles'

Mrs Hinch was left heartbroken as she announced that her beloved pet chicken Pam died on Friday.

Sophie Hinchliffe, 33, rescued a trio of hens from slaughter when she moved to a country farm last year.

She took to Instagram to reveal that Pam wasn't keen on living her nesting box and joining in with the other chickens, Pat and Peggy.

She shared a lengthy post on her Stories, explaining to her 4.7 million followers: "I feel so sad and shed tears. We noticed recently that one of our chickens, Pam, hadn't been as interested in joining in with Peggy or Pat, as she once was.

"She hadn't seemed too keen on leaving her nesting box as often. But she still had a really good appetite, was eating and drinking as normal and even carried on laying eggs, so I decided to keep a close eye on her.

"I'm so sad to say that she suddenly passed away. I know this may sound so silly because to some she's "just a chicken," but we rescued Peggy, Pam and Pat when they were weak, had hardly any feathers and were going to be slaughtered before the British Hen Welfare Trust saved them ready for rehoming."

Mrs Hinch continued: "We've watched them grow into beautiful feathery hens with their own unique personalities that so clearly tell them apart.

"We look after them and love them as our pets. So yes, I've been very upset, especially for the boys who love to run over to their coop every morning and open the hatch, counting them as they walk down their little steps one by one. I feel so sad.

"At least Pam enjoyed the last of her life cage-free and here with us. Pam felt the grass and the fresh air and was treated like a Queen."

She added: "Obviously, when you rescue any animal, whilst it's a beautiful and rewarding thing to do it also comes with risks. You don't know the full background of these hens, how old they are etc.

"But you simply take them on to give them as much happiness for as long as you can. We did that. And I will continue to do so by rescuing more hens this year."

Sophie finished her message: "I know I need to toughen up because it's inevitable this will happen again. But I just wanted to say thank you for being such a clever little chicken Pam."

Pam's death comes as Mrs Hinch opened up about going through "personal life stumbles".

In a previous post, the cleaning influencer revealed the reasons behind her social media absence.

The star concerned fans when she started posting fewer posts and Stories on her social media.

"I'm sorry for not being on Instagram as often right this moment, It is only temporary I promise, I do really miss being on here somedays," she said.

"I'm just going through a few personal life 'stumbles' right now and have been for the last 3 months. But all is ok and we're getting there. Have a beautiful weekend everyone."
