The cast of BBC's Mrs Brown’s Boys have announced their 'much-loved classic play ‘Mrs. Brown Rides Again’ will return to the stage.
Written by and starring Brendan O'Carroll as the main character Agnes Brown, 'Mrs Brown Rides Again' is set to come to the Manchester Opera House on August 31 and September 1 and 2 this year. The new tour, which will also start in Glasgow before stopping off in Edinburgh, Cardiff and Liverpool among others, will see the play performed in the UK for the first time in ten years.
The new tour follows the news that the sitcom will return to screens for a mini-series starting in the spring. The third series of Mrs Brown's Boys came to an end in 2013 and despite there being numerous Christmas specials since then, a fourth series had never materialised until now with a four-episode run expected.

Written by and starring Brendan O’Carroll as the beloved 'Mammy', ‘Mrs Brown Rides Again’ follows her dysfunctional family as they "romp their way through" what seems to be her last days at home. After hearing a plot by her children to have her put into a home, Agnes decides to prove them wrong by displaying a new lease of life.
However, proving these things are never straightforward, and on the way she must deal with a psychiatrist trying to put her in her place, her neighbours waiting for a heart bypass, and a family secret that everyone seems to know except her. Speaking about the new tour, Brendan O'Carroll said: “The Pandemic is gone, and Mrs Brown is back. It doesn’t get any better.”
The hit series has won numerous awards since it first aired in 2011, including five BAFTAs and four National Television Awards, and while its festive specials often achieve record-breaking viewing figures. In 2014, a film, Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie, was also released and topped the UK and Ireland box office on its opening weekend.
'Mrs Brown Rides Again' will head to Manchester on August 30 for a three-night run. Tickets go on sale on Friday, 24 March at 10am and can be purchased on Ticketmaster or ATG Tickets.
