Mr Spears: Everything you need to know about Kevin Federline’s bombshell interview about Britney

Popstar sensation Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Ferderline has spoken, in a tell-all interview with ITV, about his ex-wife and her former conservatorship, after a decade of silence.

Ferdeline, 44, shares two sons - Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15 - with Spears, 40, from their three-year marriage that ended in 2007.

Also known as K-Fed, Ferdeline has remained out of the limelight after his public marriage and divorce with the singer.

Now, his interview is set to air in parts on ITV news this week, with the former dancer dropping several bombshells. Here’s everything you need to know:

Spears’ sons ‘choose not to see her’

The 44-year-old has claimed his sons, Sean and Jayden, have chosen not to see their mother for months on end.

The sons did not attend Spears’ wedding to Sam Ashgari in June this year.

Both Sean and Jayden live with their father and step-mother–K-Fed’s wife of nine years and former volleyball player, Victoria.

Inappropriate photos

Federline goes on to reveal his and his sons’ feelings on Spears’ “nude photos” on her social media.

Federline reveals that although the boys love their mother, the photos are particularly “tough” whilst they are teenagers going to high school.

Conservatorship ‘saved her life’

In discussing his ex-wife’s 13-year conservatorship, Ferdeline says he believes Spears’ father “saved her life” by putting her under his watch.

The singer’s father, Jamie, controlled a majority of Spears’ financial and personal life until she the arrangement was ended after a lengthy battle in November 2021.

K-Fed and Spears’ sons had many questions regarding the conservatorship and the reasons for it. Federline says he could not answer them all, so told them that their mother “needed help”.

Federline would ‘welcome’ Britney’s dad

The former dancer was not always on the best terms with Jamie, having taken out a restraining order against his ex-father-in-law in November 2019 due to a dispute with one of his sons.

But now K-Fed has said that he hold “no hard feelings” to Jamie and “would absolutely welcome [him] back in the boys’ lives”.

He also goes on to reveal sympathy for Jamie following recent events.

Britney responds to interview

After a trailer for the ITV interview aired across the weekend, the Piece of Me singer shared a statement on her Instagram stories in response.

She wrote: “It saddens me to hear that my ex husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children … As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone ...”

“It concerns me the fact that the reason is based on my Instagram … It was LONG before Instagram … I gave them everything … Only one word: HURTFUL.”

She added: “I’ll say it ... My mother told me ‘You should GIVE them to their dad’ ... I’m sharing this because I can ... Have a good day folks !!!”.

Spears later posted on her main feed: “During my conservatorship I was controlled and monitored for nearly 15 years. I should embark on doing WAAAY more than going topless on the beach like a baby.

“Reminder that the trauma and insults that come with fame and this business not only affect me but my children as well !!!!... I’m only human and I’ve done my best.”
