Move Forward Party list-MP Theeratchai Panthumas called on the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) on Tuesday to reopen an investigation into the ownership of luxury watches by Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon, who claimed to have borrowed them from a late close friend.
Mr Theeratchai said new information has emerged that one of the timepieces, seen worn by Gen Prawit and never declared to the NACC, was not part of the inheritance of Pattawat Suksriwong, who reportedly lent the watches to Gen Prawit. He said the wristwatch in question was seen on Gen Prawit's arm during a group photo session for newly sworn-in cabinet ministers at Government House.
Mr Theeratchai said that with this new piece of evidence, the NACC should reopen the investigation and clear any lingering doubt surrounding ownership of the luxury watches.
