An MP has stepped up his campaign to save a 300-year-old west London pub .
Ealing North MP James Murray wrote to 10 breweries on Tuesday appealing for them to take on the Black Horse in Greenford.
The pub was closed by Fuller's in January because it was "simply no longer viable" to stay open.
In his letter, written on behalf of the Protect the Black Horse group, Mr Murray appealed to other pub companies to help secure the bar's future.
He said: “Regulars at the Black Horse have been left shocked and upset at the pub’s sudden closure.
"With the right business model, this pub could be a great success once again. I am appealing to other pub companies to look at buying the Black Horse and bringing it back into use.
"I very much hope that we will be able to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Black Horse in 2026 with a pint the reopened pub.”
The Black Horse was listed as an "asset of community value" by Ealing Council last summer, meaning the building has protection for use only as a pub.
However if an operator cannot be found, it risks being left empty.
Dozens of London pubs, restaurants and nightclubs have closed down in the last 12 months, analysis shows.
They include The Ship, the 200-year-old Fuller’s pub in Elephant and Castle which shut in January, and South London jazz pub The Junction.
The famous Printworks nightclub in Canada Water is due to close for good later this year.
Rising energy costs and staffing shortages have been blamed for many venues having to shut.
