Move to the US? I’m not going anywhere, insists Rebekah Vardy

Rebekah Vardy arrives at court today

Rebekah Vardy has dismissed as “categorically untrue” news reports that she is set for a fresh start in the United States after her Wagatha Christie High Court showdown with Coleen Rooney.

The two footballers’ wives were facing a final confrontation on Thursday in their libel battle over Rooney’s claim that Vardy leaked stories about her to The Sun newspaper.

Overnight, reports emerged that Vardy plans to depart to the US with her family, with a source telling The Sun: “She’s keen to be out of the country as fast as possible.”

But the report was denied by a Vardy representative who said: “The story claiming the Vardy family are planning to move to the United States is categorically untrue.”

David Sherborne, for Rooney, and Hugh Tomlinson QC, for Vardy, were set to deliver their closing arguments in court on Thursday, with Mrs Justice Steyn expected to deliver her ruling at a later date.

It follows days of dramatic evidence, with Vardy breaking down in tears four times as she recalled online abuse she has received.
