Moussa Dembele is set to leave Lyon this summer as a number of clubs circle to secure his signature when he becomes a free agent.
The French striker's contract expires at the end of the season and the hierarchy at the Ligue 1 side is resigned to losing the former Celtic ace. Clubs from England and Spain are keen on the securing Dembele's services in the summer as he looks to move on. According to Mundo, Atletico Madrid are interested in re-signing the 26-year-old however his arrival may not go down well with the fans after he failed to score when he spent time on loan at the capital side in 2021.
Everton and Southampton are also reportedly keen on Dembele, but that will depend if they are relegated or not. Both currently occupy relegation spots in the English Premier League. Celtic are set to miss out on collecting a 15 per cent sell-on from any potential sale of Dembele. The £20m forward was linked with a move to a number of clubs during his contract at Lyon, including Manchester United and Barcelona but he ended up on loan at Atleti.
Speaking about Dembele, Lyon director Vincent Ponsot said: "It is not a good situation for us to know that he will be at the end of the season. We spent 22 million euros on him and there is great regret. More and more players are released at the end of the season. contract, obviously it is his right"
