Moussa Dembele links resurface as Everton want 'at least two strikers' this summer

Everton are reportedly looking to recruit 'at least two new strikers' this summer, with Lyon's Moussa Dembele said to be one player of interest.

The Blues' lack of firepower during the 2022/23 season was clear for all to see, having scored the second fewest goals of any side in the Premier League.

Only Wolves (31 goals) were more ineffective in the final third than Sean Dyche's side, who found the back of the net 34 times.

Injuries sustained by Dominic Calvert-Lewin did little to ease Everton's woes in this department, meanwhile summer signing Neal Maupay struggled to deliver the impact many hoped he would have after joining the club as part of a deal worth £15million.

Dyche will be keen to put a stop to his side's struggles in attacking areas and is targeting a minimum of two new forward, the i have suggested.

It is also claimed Everton will look to exploit the loan market this summer, with free agents also expected to be on the agenda.

Dembele is one individual who falls under the latter category and is set to depart Lyon at the end of the month once his current contract expires. Everton were also linked with the Frenchman during the January transfer window, though a deal failed to materialise for the 26-year-old.

Limited to only eight starts in Ligue 1 last season, stuck behind ex-Arsenal man Alexandre Lacazette in the pecking order, the former Celtic star scored three times for Lyon.
