Moussa Dembele in Rangers troll as Celtic hero harks back to 2012 with 'first ever' Champions League dig

Former Celtic star Moussa Dembele has taken a cheeky swipe at Rangers after they finished their Champions League group stage campaign without a single point.

Goals from Steven Berghuis, Mohammed Kudus and late sub Francisco Conceicao saw Ajax compound a miserable return to Europe's elite competition for the Ibrox side, which saw Gio van Bronckhorst' s men seal the worst ever Champions League group stage campaign. They ended the campaign with a -20 goal difference after thumping defeats to the Dutch champions, Ajax and Napoli after a 12-year wait to get back to Europe's top table.

Rangers had to avoid losing by two goals on the night if they were to have any chance of avoiding falling below Dinamo Zagreb's unwanted record from the 2012/13 campaign, but the 3-1 loss sealed their fate. After the full-time whistle Celtic hero Dembele stuck the boot in. He took to social media harken back to Rangers off field issues back in 2012 as the Lyon striker tweeted: "After all it was the first ever Champions League campaign in their history. Well done to them...#Since2012."
