University students gathered at St Peter’s church to mourn the loss of three people who died following an attack in Nottingham on June 13. A vigil took place on Tuesday evening following the incident which left three people dead - two of them students - and three injured.
Two students, both 19, were found dead on Ilkeston Road at 4am on June 13. In a separate but linked incident a man in his 50s died on Magdala Road, police have arrested 31-year-old man on suspicion of murder and he is in custody.
Yesterday (June 13) evening a service was held for people to pay their respects and mourn those we have lost. Majority of those who made their way into the church were university students who came to pay tribute to the three who lost their lives.

One of the students who was killed has been named as Barnaby Webber, who was known as a talented sportsman, the other has been named as Grace Kumar, a student at University of Nottingham.
A prayer was led during the service and after people laid flowers in church and were invited to light a candle. In an emotional service hundreds continued to visit the church, many who were carrying flowers.
Shortly after the service a conference was held outside the force's city centre headquarters at Byron House, Nottingham, where Chief Constable, Kate Meynell, spoke about the tragic incident.
Chief Constable Kate Meynell said Nottinghamshire Police were first called to Ilkeston Road, around 4am June 13. She added that a man in his 50s was then stabbed to death on Magdala Road before his van was stolen and used an hour later on Milton Street to allegedly try and run over three people.
In a heartfelt statement following the tragedy, Vice-Chancellor of University of Nottingham Shearer West, said: “All of us at Nottingham are deeply shocked and saddened by the deaths of two of our students following a major incident in Nottingham City Centre.
“I know our entire University community will join me in offering our deepest condolences to their family and close friends, as well as the other victims of the incident. Our thoughts are very much with them all at this incredibly difficult time.
“The university is supporting the students’ family and friends, as well as staff and students. Our security team is working closely with Nottinghamshire Police and the authorities to support the ongoing investigation into the incident.”
