Mourners asked to wear 'touch of green' at funeral of Evan Reid in tribute to young dad

Mourners have been asked to wear green to the funeral of much-loved dad Evan Reid.

The 31-year-old was tragically found dead in Paisley over two weeks after he disappeared in the area.

The dad from Irvine had been on a day out in Glasgow before disembarking from his train home at the wrong stop sparking a large-scale missing person search.

Following the discovery of his body, devastated partner Nicole said her heart was "completely broken".

As Evan's loved ones prepare to give him his final send-off next week, mourners have been asked to wear a "touch of green" as a tribute.

The family will also be setting up donation boxes at his service to raise money for organisations that were a "huge part" of their search for Evan.

They're raising money for Glasgow Humane Society which searched the river every day on boats to help find Evan; Beechwood Community Centre who opened its doors to those searching for him and Specialist Search Dog who sent a dog all the way from wales to help with the search for Evan.

So far over £2,400 has been raised in his memory.

A farewell to Evan was held over the weekend where loved ones gathered to release balloons at his local beach.
