A wildfire known as the Mountain Fire is currently raging in Ventura County, located northwest of Los Angeles. Ventura County Fire Chief Dustin Gardner expressed concern over the fire's rapid spread during a news conference held on Wednesday.
Since the fire ignited on Wednesday, it has already consumed over 14,000 acres of land. Tragically, numerous structures have been damaged or destroyed by the flames. As of Thursday morning, firefighters have been unable to contain any part of the blaze, leaving it at 0% containment.
Evacuation orders have been issued for more than 14,000 individuals by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, schools in the county have been closed to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Amidst the chaos, at least two individuals have been hospitalized due to potential smoke inhalation. Fire officials are working tirelessly to combat the fire and protect the lives and properties of those affected.
