The specific course of the Dakar Rally is kept a secret from the teams until the start of each stage where they are then handed a roadbook. Drivers are given a GPS but the roadbook is the only way to discover specific way points and hazards.

The World Rally Championship (WRC) sees drivers climb inside hybrid-powered cars as they compete on unforgiving and intense terrain. Drivers must compete against the elements and the clock in 12 rallies in four continents, including snowy forests to rocky mountain paths.
Each rally consists of around 15-25 timed sections, with drivers battling one by one to complete the stages as quickly as possible. Teams consist of the main driver as well as a co-driver who will ensure the cars avoid any dangerous hazards which may get in their way.
The first race is the iconic Rallye Monte-Carlo which has been running since 1911. The event ran as a “concentration rally” up until 1997 and would see competitors race from various locations in Europe to Monaco. The iconic rally race will return to the WRC for 2024 after being missed the last two years due to major works being carried out in Monaco.
The World Rally championship is available to watch on Rally.TV.
