A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital after crashing with a van this afternoon.
Emergency services were scrambled to Moorfield Park industrial estate in Kilmarnock at 2.20pm after the motorcycle and van collided.
The motorcyclist has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment, police have confirmed this evening.
Although the extent of the motorcyclist's injuries have not been disclosed.
Police locked down the estate shortly after the crash took place and the road remains closed this evening, officers have stated.
An ambulance leaving the scene was spotted receiving a police escort as it headed towards the A71 and on to the A77.
The estate is home to businesses such as Cook School Scotland, MKM Building Supplies, Dingbro, Plumbase, Moorfield Motor Services and many more.
Traffic was not being admitted to the site with dozens of heavy good vehicles from a few of the aforementioned businesses left abandoned on nearby roads.
Emergency services could be seen down the road of the estate.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are currently in attendance following a crash involving a van and a motorbike which happened at around 2.20pm at Moorfield Industrial Estate in Kilmarnock.
"The motorcyclist has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. The road is currently closed.”
