A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital after a crash which has closed a road near Bristol this afternoon (February 17). Avon and Somerset Police was called to a collision on the A4174 by paramedics at around 3pm.
The crash, which involved a car and a motorbike, happened between Hicks Gate roundabout and the Kingsfield roundabout by Aspects Leisure Centre at Longwell Green. Roads monitoring website Inrix reports that the southbound carriageway is closed as of 6.30pm, while the northbound side has slow moving traffic.
Investigating officers from Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for information on the collision. They are urging anyone who saw what happened or who has relevant dash cam footage to get in touch.

Avon and Somerset Police said: "Emergency services are at the scene of a collision on the A4174 between Hicks Gate roundabout and the Kingsfield roundabout by Aspects Leisure Centre at Longwell Green. Ambulance crew called police to the scene of the collision involving a motorcycle and a car, which has blocked the northbound carriageway near to Hicks Gate.
"Traffic on the southbound carriageway is also at a standstill.
"The collision happened at about 3pm today, Friday, February 17, and the rider of the motorbike has gone to hospital. If you were travelling along that section of the road at that time and have any dashcam footage or information which could help the police investigation please call 101 and give the log number 592 of February 17."
