Local Councillor Daithi Doolan expressed his "sorrow" at the news of the "serious" crash. He told Dublin Live: "I want to express deep sorrow at the news that there has been a serious crash involving a scrambler in Cherry Orchard.
"I hope those involved make a full recovery. This is always a very difficult time for those injured and their families. It is quite traumatic."
The Sinn Fein Councillor pleaded with those using scramblers to be careful. He said: "We have had too many injuries here in Cherry Orchard and Ballyfermot involving scramblers.
"So, I would like to make a public appeal to those using scramblers to please be careful, please wear your helmet and please drive carefully. If you don't, the consequences can be very, very dire and life changing."
Cllr Doolan also appealed to those in cars to "watch out for those on scramblers".
