A motorcyclist has died after a crash involving a van. The collision happened on Saturday evening on a stretch of the A470 in south Powys.
The crash involved a white panel van and a blue Suzuki motorcycle, and happened at around 5pm near the village of Llandefalle, around eight miles north-east of Brecon. You can get the latest WalesOnline newsletters e-mailed to you directly for free by signing up here.
The rider of the motorcycle died at the scene, police confirmed, with a section of the road remaining closed for more than nine hours. Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle collision on the A470 near Llandefalle, south Powys, at approximately 5pm on Saturday, August 27. The collision involved a white panel van and a blue Suzuki motorcycle. Sadly, the rider of the motorcycle involved in the collision was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The road was closed for a number of hours for emergency services to deal with the collision and investigative work to begin. It reopened at around 2.30am on Sunday. Anyone travelling along the A470 close to Llandefalle at the time, and may have witnessed this incident or may have dash cam footage, are requested to contact us either online, by emailing 101@dyfed-powys.police.uk, or by calling 101, quoting reference: DP-20220827-275.”
