A motorcyclist has died in a crash at Somerton Park in beachside Adelaide, where his bike hit a power pole.

The 45-year-old's death was the second in less than 24 hours on SA's roads, with a head-on crash on the Augusta Highway on Sunday night claiming the life of a young woman.

Emergency services were called to the site of the motorbike crash about midday, at the intersection of Brighton Road and Whyte Street at Somerton Park.

The rider, from nearby Hove, died at the scene and SA Police Major Crash investigators are examining the circumstances.

His death — the 15th on the state's roads this year — followed a fatal crash at Woolundunga, south of Port Augusta.

A 25-year-old driver was killed when her sedan and a ute collided head-on along the Augusta Highway about 7pm on Sunday.

The 57-year-old man who was driving the ute was taken to Port Augusta Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The previous evening, a 16-year-old boy from Modbury Heights was killed when a buggy rolled at Paracombe in the Adelaide Hills.

The boy was a passenger in the buggy. Another 16-year-old, who was driving, was taken to hospital for observation.
