Motorcyclist hospitalised after horror crash on Lanarkshire street

A 25-year-old man has been hospitalised with “serious injuries” following a crash in Airdrie.

The incident took place on Friday night, with cops now asking for help to identify what happened.

Emergency services raced to the scene at on Woodhall Street, at the junction with Kennelburn Road, just before 10pm.

That’s after a white Ford Fiesta collided with a black Talaria Sting electric off road motorbike.

The 25-year old motorcyclist was taken to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Glasgow with “serious, but not life-threatening injuries”.

The driver of the car was not injured and the road was closed for around four-and-a-half hours to allow road investigation work to take place.

Road policing officer Brian Fowler told Lanarkshire Live: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstance and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch.

“In particular if you have dash-cam or private CCTV footage that could assist with our investigation then please contact us.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101.
