Motorcyclist dies in crash as police launch investigation

A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a crash in South Ayrshire as police launch an investigation.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a KTM 1290 Superduke R20 motorbike on the road southwest of Hamilton Bridge, Crosshill, at around 4.55pm on Friday.

A 59-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said no other cars were involved in the incident.

The road was closed for around seven hours while emergency services were in attendance and officers carried out their investigation.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans has appealed for anyone who may have dashcam footage to come forward.

He said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“We are asking anyone who may have information to contact us.

“If you were on this road around the time of the crash and saw the motorcyclist or if you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation then please contact us.”

Anyone who can help with any information has been asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2669 of Friday, March 21, 2025.
