Motorcyclist dies after hitting wall in crash with car near Donington Park

A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a car near Donington Park. The crash involved a white Nissan MPV and a black KTM Duke motorcycle, which collided into each other shortly before 5pm on Thursday, June 29.

The incident happened in Melbourne Road, close to its junction with Slade Lane in Castle Donington. Both vehicles collided, before the motorcycle then struck a wall, Leicestershire Live reports.

The rider – a man in his 30s – was pronounced dead at the scene. Leicestershire Police have a confirmed a 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.

He has since been released under investigation. The force have now launched a public appeal into the incident for anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
