A motorcyclist had to be airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash near an Ayrshire village.
Emergency services raced to the scene on the A719 outside Tarbolton at 5pm yesterday after a collision between a car and a motorcycle.
The biker was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
Police say driver of the car was not injured in the smash and will be reported for road traffic offences.
Cops sealed off the road whilst crews recovered a damaged vehicle from the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a road crash involving a motorcycle and a car on a road close to the village of Tarbolton, Ayrshire at 5pm on Wednesday, June 15.
"Emergency services were in attendance and the motorcyclist was conveyed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries.
"The driver of the car was unhurt and will be reported for road traffic offences.
"The road was closed for a short time for vehicle recovery but was soon reopened."
At the weekend, police confirmed a motorcyclist had died following a crash at the Moorfield industrial estate last Tuesday. He was named as 45-year-old Bobby Landsborough from Ayr.
