Motorcyclist, 27, rushed to hospital with serious injuries after smash

A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in the early hours of Thursday morning (August 11). Emergency services rushed to the smash, involving a 27-year-old male.

Police were called to reports of the collision shortly before 3.30am, on Bury New Road, close to the junction with Moorend Avenue. Greater Manchester Police are now appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage of the crash to come forward.

The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries, but they are not described as life-threatening. It is not known if any other vehicles were involved. No further details about the nature of the crash have been released.

An update from GMP Salford read: "At around 03:24am last night (11 August 2022), officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a 27-year-old man on a motorbike at Bury New Road, near to Moorend Avenue, Salford.

"Emergency services attended the scene, and the 27-year-old was taken to hospital. His injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening."
