Motorcross star and X Games medalist Jayden 'Jayo' Archer tragically passed away at the age of 27 while practicing a triple backflip in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia. The news was confirmed by Nitro Circus, the action sports collective to which Archer belonged.
Archer, who initially worked as an assistant mechanic for Nitro Circus, transitioned to performing in shows in 2012. He made history in November 2022 by becoming one of only three riders to successfully execute a triple backflip at the Nitro World Games.
In an emotional interview after achieving this milestone, Archer expressed his dedication to the sport, stating, 'I've dedicated my whole life for the last three years doing this.' He also proposed to his girlfriend, Beth King, following the accomplishment.
Archer's last public performance was in June 2023 during a Nitro Circus Live Show in Jay, Oklahoma, where he once again executed a triple backflip. His impressive skills earned him a bronze medal in the MTX Best Trick category at the 2023 X Games California, following a sixth-place finish in the same category at the 2021 X Games.
