Motorbike rider dies in crash as police appeal for information

A MOTORBIKE rider has died following a crash in East Kilbride.

Emergency services were called to Glenburn Road at its junction with Glenburn Way, at around 3.20pm on Friday, August 30 following a report of a crash.

Emergency services attended the scene and attended to a rider of a green Kawasaki motorbike.

The 32-year-old man was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police officers are appealing for anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward.

Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances around the incident.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.

“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to officers to please contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area around that time who may have dash-cam to please review their footage and contact us if it holds anything relevant.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference number 2424 of 30 August.”
