A motorbike rider has died after crashing with a tractor on an Ayrshire road yesterday.
The 30-year-old driver was fatally injured on the B741 at Hamilton Bridge in Dailly yesterday morning at around 7.35am.
Emergency services raced to the scene but the driver of the black Suzuki SV 650 motorbike was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the yellow JCB 4220 tractor was uninjured in the collision, police have said today.
The road was closed for around six hours to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out and re-opened at around 1.30pm.
Police are now appealing for dashcam footage or anyone who who saw the vehicles before the crash.
Sergeant Kenneth Malaney, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this very difficult time.
“I would ask anyone who saw the vehicles immediately prior to the crash to come forward. I would also ask anyone who with dash-cam footage who was in the area around the time of the crash to check their footage and provide anything relevant to us as soon as possible.
“Those with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0649 of 11 July.”
