Travellers are being warned to expect delays and cancellations after a car smashed into a rail bridge in Fife.
Police have been called to the scene on Cowdenbeath High Street after the white car collided with the structure on Wednesday morning.
Thankfully no one was injured during the one vehicle collision, which took place shortly after 10am.
Pictures from the scene show the front end of the car has crumpled under the force of the impact.
ScotRail services between Inverkeithing and Glenrothes with Thornton may be delayed, cancelled or revised, Network Rail have confirmed.
In a statement, they said: “A road vehicle colliding with a bridge at Cowdenbeath is causing disruption to journeys through this station.
“Trains running between Inverkeithing and Glenrothes with Thornton may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 13:00.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 10.40am on Wednesday, 16 February, police were called to the High Street area of Cowdenbeath following a report of a car crashing into a railway bridge pillar. There were no injuries reported and Network Rail was contacted.”
