Motherwell assistant manager Chris Lucketti says Dundee will have to pay up if they want Ricki Lamie today - as Joe Efford looks set to finalise his Fir Park move.
Defender Lamie has signed a pre-contract with James McPake's Dundee side and will join them in the summer as things stand, but the Dens Park outfit are keen to swoop for him on deadline day.
Partick Thistle striker Zak Rudden has already opted for Dens over Motherwell and St Johnstone this transfer window.
'Well have rejected a bid from their Premiership rivals for Lamie ahead of Tuesday night's away trip to St Mirren, and manager Graham Alexander still views him as an important player between now and May.
Lucketti said: "At the moment, we still expect him to be here for tomorrow. There's a bid that has come in but it is not an offer we would accept for Ricki Lamie.
"It's nowhere near our valuation so that is in Dundee's court now over whether they come back. If they don't, Ricki Lamie will be here - and we will be pleased if he is.
"If the deal isn't right, he won't be leaving this football club. We are getting our central defenders back fit now which is good."
Motherwell are expecting a quiet final day of the transfer window but American attacker Joe Efford could join their plans for the St Mirren match.
The 25-year-old signed a deal until 2023 last week from Belgian side Waasland-Beveren and had a work permit meeting on Sunday.
Lucketti added: "Joe looks good. We need to work on the physical side with him but we are just waiting for the paperwork to see that come through in time for tomorrow's game. It's a possibility (he features v St Mirren)."
