Motherwell have confirmed the signing of Jon Obika on loan until the end of the season.
Steven Hammell sealed a late move for the striker who heads north from Morecambe.
Obika, 32, is a well-known face in Scotland having played for St Mirren before joining Morecambe in the summer of 2021.
The target man has not featured for League One side Morecambe in recent months with his eight appearances this term coming in the early stages of the season.
It meant the English club were happy to sanction a temporary switch to Scotland.
Motherwell had lost new boy Mikael Mandron to injury and allowed Connor Shields to leave the club on loan to Queen's Park.
Hammell was keen to replace Mandon with a new "focal point" in the squad - and Obika is a seemingly perfect fit.
During his time in Scotland previously, Obika netted 20 times in 77 outings for St Mirren, also offering six assists.
The forward has also played for Swindon, Oxford and Charlton in his career. Obika had further loan spells with Yeovil, Millwall, Crystal Palace, Charlton and Brighton. He came through the youth ranks at Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.
Commenting on the signing, Hammell told the club website: “Jonathan gives us a big, physical presence in the final third.
“When we found out he was available, we wanted to try hard to get him here and I’m pleased that has been achieved.
“With Mikael picking up his injury, we needed a new focal point up top."
