Motherwell hero Kevin van Veen equalled a 103-year club record by scoring ofr the 10th consecutive game in their 1-1 draw with Livingston.
And the Dutchman also matched Mark Viduka's post-war record in the SPFL for Celtic with the feat, on a night the Steelmen were made to wait on securing seventh place in the Premiership.
Van Veen netted after just three minutes at the Tony Macaroni Arena to bag his 28th goal of the season and match Hugh Ferguson's top-flight consecutive scoring record in claret and amber.
It seemed like it would be the Steelmen's night when Livi were reduced to 10 men just before half-time when goalkepper Shamal George saw red for a high boot on van Veen, which was upgraded from a yellow card after a VAR check.
However, seven minutes from time, Andrew Shinnie equalised to keep eighth-place Livi within a point of Motherwell going into Sunday's final fixtures of the season.
On van Veen's achievement, Kettlewell said: “It's an amazing achievement. It's a brilliant finish again tonight.
"We know the quality of the player and everybody in Scottish football is talking about him, and rightly so.
"But it was a superb team goal and he was well supported by his team-mates. The hold up play, the cross that comes into the box and then the difficult bit is the finish."
Kettlewell was disappointed his side didn't take ad advantage of the extra man, but focused on the run his side have been on since he took charge in February with Motherwell having lost just twice in 13 games under him.
He said: "Without trying to be too happy in a situation where I felt we should have got three points and a clean sheet, I just have to kind of focus on the run we’ve been on which has been amazing.
“We were a long way behind Livingston when I took over 13 games ago and we’re still sitting a point ahead of them and still got a chance to get that seventh spot which is an amazing achievement in itself.
‘If my maths are right, in my time Rangers are on 28 points in 13 games and we are on 27 and that speaks for itself. Celtic are a point behind after tonight and Aberdeen are below that.
‘For us to do that is pretty amazing. It’s a remarkable turnaround and all the praise and credit goes to the players.
"In the game I thought we did more than enough in the first half, I thought we were the dominant team when it was 11v11.
“I felt we got stuck down one side in every attack we made in the second half and that’s disappointing."
Motherwell finish off their campaign on Sunday when they host bottom of the table Dundee United.
