Motherwell not expecting any late bids for teen prodigy Lennon Miller

Motherwell head coach Stuart Kettlewell has expressed confidence that there will be no last-minute bids for promising midfielder Lennon Miller.

The young talent recently celebrated his 18th birthday in style, contributing significantly to the team’s impressive 3-1 victory over Heart of Midlothian last weekend, where he notched up two assists.

Miller's performance has not only showcased his potential but also solidified his position as a key player for Motherwell despite his age.

Kettlewell praised the starlets maturity and skill following the recent Scottish Premiership win and with the transfer window nearing a conclusion, he is certain he will retain his prized asset.

“It’s not been a topic of conversation,” Kettlewell explained. “We are all really comfortable with where we are with Lennon.”

“We don’t need to move anybody out and when you look at my squad, I’m not really in a position to send anyone out.

“We might see one or two of the younger players heading out (on loan). We have a little bit more time after the window closes for that type of thing to transpire.”

Kettlewell has made 13 signings this summer yet admits he doesn't want to stop there.

Without being too inpatient, the Motherwell boss knows the last minute domino effect that can happen before Friday nights transfer deadline - and he will be ready to pounce.

“We are still working hard," he said. "It’s a little bit slower than we probably hoped for. We will continue to work away to see if there’s anything we can do to try and help us and bring a different profile to our group.

“Whether we can do that or not is sometimes subject to things happening elsewhere. Sometimes we need pieces to move at other football clubs for things to change for us and at this time, there’s a little bit of a stalemate.

“I am happy with my group but we are always trying to ward against this period between now and January where you feel you as if you come up short with options.”
