Motherwell midfielder Callum Slattery's season is over.
The Steelmen have confirmed the 24-year-old has suffered a serious knee injury that will prevent him from featuring for the rest of the campaign.
The former Southampton player picked up the injury during a training session last week, in what is a huge blow to the Premiership strugglers.
“First off, I want to wish Callum the very best in his recovery,” manager Stuart Kettlewell said. “Losing him is a massive blow for the team and the nature he has picked up this injury only makes the situation worse for the player.

“We’ve not had our problems to seek with regards to injuries this season and this is another hurdle we have to deal with.
“Callum will now begin his recovery and the staff here will look after him every step of the way and I have no doubts, with Callum’s attitude and strong mentality, he will come back stronger and ready to go.”
Meanwhile, the race to sign Celtic talent Rocco Vata is heating up as the latest Italian club registered their interest in the teenager.
Serie B side Como FC have officially approached the Scottish champions over the young attacker.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international's current deal at Celtic Park expires in the summer, so he is free to speak to any interested clubs.
It seems unlikely that Vata - son of Rudi - will sign a contract extension at the Hoops, so clubs could pick him up for a small development fee.
Bologna is also keen on signing the forward, however, it's believed that Como would offer him guaranteed first-team football.
Talks between Celtic, Vata and Como are expected to follow soon.
