Motherwell won't appeal Liam Gordon's red card against Celtic in the Scottish Premiership last weekend (Sunday), despite manager Stewart Kettlewell's complaints after the match.
In the closing stages of Celtic's 3-0 win at Fir Park, the hosts' Gordon lunged at goalscorer Adam Idah in the centre of the pitch, catching his ankle and initially receiving a yellow card.
The decision went to VAR and Gordon's caution was upgraded to a straight red.
Kettlewell described the decision as harsh during his post-match media duties, however Motherwell assistant manager Stephen Frail has now confirmed the club will not appeal the decision.
"It was an unfortunate incident," said Frail, as per the Daily Record. "Liam has played over 250 games and it’s only his second red card. His first one against Livingston was overturned."

Frail added: "So he was upset with the decision. We looked at it. The tackle's gone in, he’s been given a red card and we lose him for two league games but the big thing for us is he’s available for Sunday.
“It was late in the game. Liam has made an attempt to get the ball. It looks like he’s at the length of his stretch to try and win it. Unfortunately he has caught him on his ankle. We have moved on from it and hopefully there’s no ill effects for the Celtic player.”
