Motherwell have issued a statement in response to their fans' pyro display at McDiarmid Park last night.
Prior to the game against St Johnstone, several flares and smoke bombs were set off by a section of the travelling support in Perth. The game finished 2-2 with Stuart Kettlewell's side coming back from two goals down to secure a point.
It comes just days after the SPFL had warned Hibernian, Aberdeen, Rangers and Hearts fans not to part-take in such behaviour at Hampden for the Viaplay Cup semi-finals.
That followed on from last week's drama at Dens Park were the entire away stand filled with Rangers fans was illuminated red with flares, which disrupted the game.
Now, addressing their fans, the club has stated they could be subject to sanctions if the use of pyrotechnics continues.
A statement reads: "We need to reiterate that the use of pyrotechnics in football grounds is a criminal offence and we are disappointed they were used by some of our supporters at last night’s game.
"The use of pyrotechnics can cause injury to players, stewards and fellow supporters. If this continues, the club could be subject to sanctions.
"Supporters are the most important component of match days and we encourage that support to continue in a safe manner."
