Motherwell interim boss Stuart Kettlewell says it's a good feeling to have delivered the club's first Premiership win in 12 games, but doesn't yet know if he will be in charge for the visit by Hearts on Sunday.
First-half goals from Kevin van Veen and Max Johnston gave Motherwell a 2-1 win over St Mirren, their first at home in the league since August 20 and their only three points since October 29, moving them up to ninth in the table.
Kettlewell was delighted with the win, but knows it's only the start of the Steelmen's fight to climb the league table.
He said: "I'm delighted with the result. It's a good feeling to win a game of football, especially since it has been so long, winning one here.
"That's a great feeling for the players, it will be a great feeling for the supporters, going home.
"Of course we were looking for a result, but I think the really important part for me was how they followed that game-plan and how they stuck to the plan, and not panicking within it when we lost a goal, if at times there wasn't pressure on their centre-backs, etc - a lot of things that were spoken about in the days leading up.
"That was a good feeling for me at the side.
"I've just said to the guys you're never sure how it's going to match up, but the players executed it very well.
"When you've not won a game at home for so long, or in the Premiership since October, of course that wee bit of nervous energy sets in, but I thought we managed the game pretty well.
"There was some good experience on the park that showed their experience. The substitutes made an impact on that, so every facet of that, every aspect of that was pleasing.
"We need to draw on that for the next 13 games. That's what will define our season, but what we saw tonight gives us a chance."
On his own future, Kettlewell said: "I said we would get to 10pm tonight and then try and forge a plan for what came next.
"There have been brief conversations between myself and one or two officials of the football club.
"I keep saying I'm a planner, so I want to try and understand and see what happens in that.
"I'm sure the guys will give us a wee bit of clarity on that in the coming hours."
