Motherwell have confirmed the departure of Pape Souare following the expiry of his contract.
The former Crystal Palace player made six appearances after signing on a short-term deal in the summer before a calf injury and then fractured ankle ended his game time.
A club statement read: “We thank Pape for his efforts and wish him well for his recovery and future.”
Meanwhile, Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell hailed the much-maligned Theo Bair for his hunger and composure after the striker doubled his tally for the season with a brace against Livingston.
Bair also set up Blair Spittal to score the opener as a 3-1 victory ended a 15-game run without a win for Motherwell.
The Canada international joined Motherwell in the summer after an 18-month spell with St Johnstone yielded only one goal but he showed his potential with a brilliant piece of skill for the second goal.
The 23-year-old cut inside Mikey Devlin, feigned to shoot and then dinked the ball over the grounded Shamal George from a tight angle.
Kettlewell said: “Theo’s second goal was clearly the pick of the bunch, possibly for the weekend. It’s a great bit of composure, both in eliminating the defender and the finish.
“We conceded a poor goal just before it. It starts to become a wee bit nervous in the stadium and he shows amazing composure.
“I feel he is the guy who gets criticised more than anybody else. He seems to be the one that gets criticism beyond a lot of the other attackers and forward players in the league.
“But Theo can’t feel sorry for himself. I don’t feel sorry for him. What he can do it change people’s opinions of him and make them eat their words with that sort of performance.
“In the first half I thought he was outstanding and unplayable at times.
“His goals are the end product we keep talking about. He has all the tools, he has all the attributes I think the big thing is confidence and belief.
“He also needs opportunities from me to play in the area of the pitch he did.
“I wasn’t sure of my team on Thursday but he showed a massive appetite and so much quality in training. That nudged me in the direction of starting him in the game.”
