Motherwell condemn racist abuse towards player during Celtic match

Motherwell have condemned racist abuse towards one of their players during the Scottish Premiership match against Celtic.

The Fir Park club have launched an investigation after a racist remark was posted on social media this afternoon.

Motherwell chiefs will work with authorities to identify the individual responsible.

A statement read: "The club is aware of the racist abuse towards a Motherwell player on social media this afternoon. 

"We will investigate this fully and will work with authorities to identify the individual.

"Motherwell Football Club condemns any form of racist abuse towards anyone.

"This kind of behaviour has no place in football or society."
