Motherwell boss to make 'late calls' on players for Kilmarnock clash

Motherwell will make some late fitness calls for tomorrow night's Premiership clash with Kilmarnock.

The Steelmen are sweating on at least two players being available for their first competitive outing since they drew 1-1 at St Johnstone on November 12.

Loan striker Louis Moult has already been ruled out and is currently back at Burton Albion as his parent club assess a niggling injury.

Defender Paul McGinn, who has been out since early November, could be back in contention but Hammell was keeping tight-lipped on the rest of his squad.

He said: "We are still not at full strength. There will be a couple of late decisions to be made on players and I think that has been consistent with what we've had all season.

"We won't be at our maximum in terms of personnel but whatever we have got we will give it everything we've got.

"Louis' situation is pretty much similar to what it was last week.

"Paul has been doing a little bit. Whether he will be ready for tomorrow we don't know.

"He will be one we need to make a late decision on."

New signing Shane Blaney was with the squad for training at Ravenscraig this morning but he won't be eligible until January 1, following his move from Sligo Rovers.

Motherwell are currently ninth in the Premiership and can move fifth points clear of second bottom Kilmarnock with a victory tomorrow night.

Kick-off at Fir Park is 7.45pm.
