Mother of murdered daughters has forgiven their killer but not police who took photos

The mother of murdered sisters Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman has spoken out about their killer and says she has forgiven him.

The siblings were tragically stabbed to death by Danyal Hussein in Fryent Country Park in Kingsbury, north-west London, on June 6 2020.

It later emerged that PC Deniz Jaffer, 47, and PC Jamie Lewis, 33, took "non-official and inappropriate photographs" at the crime scene before sharing them on WhatsApp between June 7 and 23.

Both men were sacked from the Metropolitan Police following a misconduct hearing in November last year.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, Bibaa and Nicole's mother Mina explained how she has been able to forgive their killer but not the policeman.

"If you didn't have your faith, do you think you would have been able to forgive him?" Richard asked Mina.

She replied: "No I don't, I really don't. I preached to congregations about mothers who had forgiven and I said, 'I'm not sure I could'.

"And it actually is a grace thing. You know, theologically it's a very difficult thing to explain but it's a gift. The Holy Spirit comes in and takes it away.

"So I don't even think of him, he's not even in my consciousness, and that's great because it would be mulling over and over in my mind, you replay it and replay it. I just don't even think of him," Mina bravely continued.

Susanna then mentioned the terrible actions of the two police officers and asked Mina: "Can you forgive those officers?"

"Well it just shows you, I'm real if nothing else. No I haven't. I don't ponder on it but I know haven't because I still feel it, I still feel really angry," Mina admitted.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV Hub.
